Youth Architecture Workshop Level 1 at the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio (Event)
Youth Architecture Workshops give 7th-12th graders an opportunity to practice design, drawing, and model-building in the drafting room of Frank Lloyd Wright's studio in Oak Park. In each of two innovative workshops students create their own design for a 'client,' build a 3-dimensional model and participate in an architectural critique.
In Level I, students explore the influence of geometry on Wrights architecture, learn to use drafting tools and interpret architectural plans, study Wright's Usonian style and create their own design for a "client," and experience a tour of the Home and Studio.
Level I session dates:
June 14-17, 2010
July 26-29, 2010
Time: 8:30 am - 11:30 am
Level I Admission: $200 Preservation Trust members, $225 non-members
Maximum capacity for each session is 12 students. Call 708.725.3828 or email educate@gowright.org for more information and to reserve a seat. www.gowright.org/calendar/64/38389-Youth-Architecture-Workshop-Level-1.html
